Yes, WeedMD is very proud to be listed among Canada’s Licensed Producers under the Cannabis Act and its regulations.

Registration & Ordering of Cannabis

How can I become a WeedMD patient?

To become a patient of WeedMD, you must complete one of the following 2 options:

Option 1: Complete and submit two forms; a Registration Application and a Medical Document.  The Registration Application must be completed by you and the Medical Document by your Healthcare Practitioner. The online Registration Application form can be filled out here or you can download a copy here. You can download the Medical Document here.  We accept all Licensed Producer’s Medical Document forms when they are completed by a Healthcare Practitioner.

Option 2:  Complete and submit two forms; a Registration Application and a Registration Certificate issued by the Minister under Part 2. The online Registration Form can be filled out here or you can download a copy here.

Once both the Registration Application and Medical Document/Registration Certificate are complete, your doctor can send them to us via secure, toll-free fax at 1-844-WEEDMD-7 (1-844-933-3637) or they can be mailed to our offices at 250 Elm Street Aylmer, ON. N5H 2M8 for processing. The medical document must be an original, accepted by mail or by secured fax portal from your medical practitioner only. Once you have successfully registered with WeedMD, we will send you a confirmation email so that you may place your first order.

How do I place my order with WeedMD?

WeedMD offers secure online shopping here, or by phone. We accept, from our registered patients, payment in the form of: Visa, Mastercard, and e-transfers.

How long will it take for me to become a registered patient?

Once we have received your necessary documents, and provided that no additional information is required, your registration may be approved in as little as 1-3 business days.

How much product can I order at one time?

As per Health Canada’s regulations, you may order up to a 30-day supply with no more than 150 grams per order. Registered patients may order as many times as they like without exceeding their 30-day limit.

For example, if your doctor authorizes 2 grams/day on your medical document, then your 30 day limit would be 60 grams (2 grams x 30 days). Registered patients may order the entire amount, or split it into separate, smaller orders throughout the 30 days. Patients with prescriptions greater than 5 grams per day will need to order multiple times within the 30-days due to the 150 gram maximum per shipment.

Can I pay for WeedMD products via E-transfer?

Should you wish to pay for WeedMD products via e-transfer, please send your payment to, using the password ‘weedmd’ along with the last four digits of your Client ID number (i.e. weedmd9458).

How will my order be shipped?

All WeedMD orders are packaged discretely and shipped by our trusted delivery partners, Canada Post & Purolator.

Is there a compassionate program available?

I’m registered. What happens when my medical document expires?

Your registration with WeedMD is valid for the duration set out in the medical document or copy of the registration certificate as provided by your medical practitioner.  You will receive notification from WeedMD in regards to your expiration date upon approval of your registration. Once your registration expires, you must submit a new medical document/registration certificate and a new registration application for approval.

Please note that the expiration date is the final date that you can RECEIVE an order.  As such, the final date for ordering will be 3 business day(s) prior to expiration.

Will my medical plan cover the cost of any products I order?

In most cases, medical cannabis is not covered under provincial or private drug plans. However, it is always recommended to check with your provider. Medical cannabis purchased from a licensed producer can be claimed on your personal tax return, and if you are a veteran, you may have coverage through Veterans Affairs Canada.

Registration & Ordering of Clones

Can I change my shipping address?

The Cannabis Act indicates that the only address that can be used is the one that is listed on your Cannabis Act Registration Certificate. This can be the address where your medical marijuana is produced or stored. We are not permitted to make amendments to shipping address. This will have to be done through Health Canada. Please make sure to have someone available to receive your live plants at the address listed on your Registration Certificate.

Can I order an interim supply of oils and dried flower?

Cannabis has a 2-4 week vegetative cycle, an 8-10 week flowering cycle, followed by a 1-2 week drying time before it can be consumed. If you need an interim supply of oil or dried flower you may order an interim supply from a Licensed Producer.

This application is the same as the form used to register to receive live plants, however, on this application you must indicate you are looking for an interim supply of dried cannabis or oil. Even existing WeedMD clients must register and apply for a Cannabis Act Personal Production License, and for interim supply.

Can I order clones if I am already registered with an LP?

No. WeedMD requires a valid Cannabis Act personal production license from Health Canada. This is a document issued by Health Canada that is separate from your personal possession authorization.

How do I order live cannabis plants?

We will gladly help you place your order over the phone. Call us, toll-free, at 1-844-933-3636.

Orders will only be processed once your registration is complete, and a copy of your Cannabis Act Production License is obtained.

How do I register to be a part of the Cannabis Act home grower program?

You must first to register with Health Canada. If this is your first time applying, and you do not currently have a Medical Cannabis Registry (MCR) Registration Number, you will need to download and complete the Registration Form. You may refer to this helpful guide when filling out the Registration Form.

I have a valid certificate from Health Canada. What’s next?

Please forward your official Cannabis Act Registration Certificate from Health Canada to WeedMD and then complete the WeedMD Registration Application. You will need to specify that your registration includes the intent to purchase live plants, which may be identified in Section C.

Is there a maximum number of clones I can purchase?

The maximum number of live plants that a client can purchase is determined by Health Canada. This number is stated on your Cannabis Act Personal Production Certificate.

WeedMD Products

Can I carry my medication outside my home?

In order to remain fully compliant with the Cannabis Act, a patient of a Licensed Producer can demonstrate that individual is in legal possession of cannabis by showing a law enforcement official a client-specific label affixed to the product’s container, or an accompanying client-specific document, as well as an appropriate piece of photo identification. These rules apply ONLY within Canada.

How are cannabinoid levels determined at WeedMD?

WeedMD uses independent, accredited, third-party laboratories for testing all finished products.

WeedMD Shipping

Are there any shipping restrictions?

WeedMD delivers within Canada only.

Deliveries can only be made to locations with a street address or rural route number with postal code. We cannot deliver to PO boxes.

Do I need to be home to receive my delivery?

All WeedMD packages must be signed for. If you are not available to sign for the package, it will be available at the nearest Post Office or Purolator shipping depot for your convenience.

How do I track my package?

Once your package has been shipped, a tracking number will be provided in your shipping confirmation email.

How long will the courier hold my shipment?

Canada Post holds shipments at their depot for a maximum of 10 days before returning to sender.

Purolator holds shipments at their depot for a maximum of 5 days before returning to sender.

As per the Cannabis Act and its regulations, returned product must be destroyed.

Is free shipping available?

Yes, we offer free shipping only with Canada Post on all orders over $99, and for all clients enrolled in our compassionate pricing, veterans affairs, pediatric, and seniors discount programs. Purolator shipping rates are determined by weight, size, and destination.

What are the shipping rates?

Shipping rates are determined by weight, size and destination. To determine the shipping rate for a specific product, add the item to cart and proceed to shipping options.

What happens if I do not pick up my package?

WeedMD will NOT refund your money if you do not pick up your order before it is returned.

As per the Cannabis Act and its regulations, returned product must be destroyed.

What shipping methods are available?

Canada Post Xpress Post and Purolator Express.

When will I receive my order?

Orders usually ship within 24 – 72 hours and a follow-up email will be sent to you containing a link to your tracking number.
